Skunks stinking up your home?

If you live in the United States, chances are you have encountered skunks at some point in your life. They are beautiful animals. Typically, most folks don’t like them just because of their defense mechanism, the essence they spray at what they conceive to be threats.

Like a lot of small animals, they seek shelter close to a food source. They are omnivorous, opportunistic eaters but their diet is mainly made up of bugs. The homes they sometimes choose for themselves is under or around our homes. This creates an issue due to the essence they can accurately spray up to 15 feet at us, our pets or anything they deem to be a threat.

You might find yourself in a stinky situation due to a run in with a skunk, but don’t worry, there’s help. If you or your pets are sprayed, there’s a concoction you can mix up that will help tremendously to neutralize the odor. I will list the recipe below. If the skunk has taken up residency in or around your home, call Calvary Wildlife Removal and we will come out and remove it so you don’t have to go through it again.

Mix 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide (the brown bottle), 1/4 cup baking soda, and 1 to 2 teaspoons dish soap (dawn) together. Rub this mixture into your pets fur or onto yourself and let sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse off. Be sure to avoid the eyes while applying and do not store this in a sealable container, as it will pop and make a mess (ask me how I know LOL).
